Part of also what makes the Angles ineffective is the grid on the windows. I take it that was cost savings??? If those were all simple large plates of glass you would see the angles of the walls more. Alas.... either by design or costing the effect has certainly been mitigated.
As others.... I'm happy for the effort......

Does anyone know if the skybride went up across West Ave this weekend as planned? The webcam is now out of business.

It did not. West Ave? I thought this was the one that's supposed to go across Bowie St. and to Whole Foods. I don't see any signs of connectivity on either structure. Unless that 3-story steel frame skeleton is where it's connecting on the Shoal Creek Walk side.

Yes, I meant Bowie or whatever that street is that floods all the time.

That's a great pic . . . and points out just how weird that skybridge and open concrete space (parking deck?) actually is. It's weird. Even though it's under a CVC, you could still have theoretically built five more stories of something underneath it.

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if that will be incorporated in the shorter building once it's up.

I believe there is parking underneath there. But no, it's not going to be a surface lot. Eventually, (I don't know the time line) there is going to be more office space built on top of that.

So, we never actually got to see the building elevations for this one. The only height that we had to go on was a 207 foot height that came from the site plan showing the layout of the property. That height seemed low to me based on how it appeared on the skyline. After GoogleEarth updated their Austin imagery recently, I was able to measure the building. It's 219 feet to the mechanical penthouse and screen, 210 feet to the main roof parapet and 205 feet to the main roof slab. I'm assuming the 207 foot height they had posted on the layout was for the main roof. The difference in height from that number to what I was able to measure is likely because I measured from the lowest sea level elevation around the perimeter of the building versus what they used which as probably just the average.

It's not a bad building really. The height fits as well.

Dusting this one off...

This project's 2nd building (for Whole Foods) and parking structure should be starting soon. Two tower cranes are scheduled to go up during the last weekend in December and first weekend in January.

Nothing to get too excited about, but a second five-story office building and a five-story parking garage were part of the original site plan. This is the side of the site with a CVC. So, they could only do two five-story structures.
