Inman Square ~ Cambridge, MA

We had a beautiful day in Boston. I had to get out and enjoy it. My trip started at the Lechmere T Station and finished at the Harvard Square T Station via the #69 Bus. I got off the bus in Inman Square and took these pictures. Wish I could do this all day & everyday.

Time to head home:

Man, you just keep bringing teh awesome!

I love what Inman Square represents: a busy neighborhood center that is not so much a destination square like Central or Harvard. I guess the fact that it's not on the T adds some charm. And Cambridge Street from there to Lechmere also seems less likely to be on people's radar, but it's one of the most consistently dense and "urban" (as people here like to say) streets in town.

Thanks for another great tour. Keep 'em coming! Have you hit nearby Union Square yet?

Awesome. The whole area between Inman and Union is fantastic. Definitely a place I would want to live. You need to make these rounds again the Spring and Summer when the place really comes alive. I spend a lot of my time in Inman when I'm home splitting it pretty evenly between my parents in West Somerville and my friend's apartment on Cambridge St. near the Midwest Grill. If you ever want bangin' Brazilian BBQ, this is the place to find it!

Colday Man & Ohio Guy - Thanks for the comments

Pigboy & JBoston - Inman Square is an immensely likable neighborhood. I will definitely be back for a spring tour even though Inman Square can hold up and keep its charm despite being under a pile of dirty snow. I have been to Union Square briefly. I think we went to an amazing breakfast restaurant there. The Neighborhood Restaurant. I will go there with a camera one of these days. Who knows where I will go next?

I love it, keep 'em coming!

I'm not sure that I've ever even been to Inman, which judging by these pics is a real shame.

This is great. Inman is remarkable for succeeding to such an extent without the benefit of its own T stop.

Keep these awesome neighborhood tours comin!

Expat, The Neighborhood Restaurant is Somerville's best-kept secret - it is phenomenal. Keep the Boston coming! You're making me homesick!

Welcome to the Republic of Cambridge!

I always thought that the Harvard Sq. station was the most impressive in the entire MBTA system - seems like you're in another city.

That, I imagine, is due to the fact that the Harvard Sq station is 65-80 years newer than most of the others in the system (orange line excepted, most of which was relocated in the 1980s.)

Thanks again for the comments. I agree that the Harvard T Station is impressive. The vast difference between T stations intrigues me. I never know what to expect from stop to stop. Years in DC with it's uniform stations didn't prepare me for the T.
