Comments and Constructive Criticism, anyone?

I'm 50/50 on the auto-manual focus option. I just find there is some stuff that is not what I want in the auto mode. But then, being fascinated by shiny objects makes the focal distance difficult for the camera to figure out.

Nice stuff Matty. I know you're just posting your subjective best on flickr, but make sure to try every image in various ways. This was a nice one. I'd work on the compositional straightness (it's making me lean a bit) and you could also try finding a word or two that's specific to what you're thinking as the compositional focal point. Do you have the exif information for this one? What was the focal length?

It's nice to see you're not afraid of having sections of the image black to preserve better exposure for the actual focus of the image.

Thank you. Unfortunately, yes, I am using a point-and-shoot, though it has full manual capability.

Some of my Nikon point-n-shoot handiwork. Some of it's been posted on SSP and can be seen in the links in my signature. Got me some thick skin (used to write for a newspaper, and dabbled in a bit of photography there too but haven't ever received any formal training), so say what you think.
