Austin added to Google Streetview

Google added Streetview for Austin this afternoon. At first glance, it looks like pretty extensive coverage.

Wow, this work had to be done after 1/24, at least where my old and new house are in Pflugerville.

Google really needs to update their aerial view though.

Look at the photos from Congress and from 6th streets. The Christmas lights are still up.

I'd say the ones of my neighborhood were probably late fall at best. Our knarly boganvia was still blooming like crazy. Oh, and it was trash day.

WOW!!!!! My house, my family's house, most of my friends' homes... all up close and personal!

For a scenic angle, check out this view from Comanche Trail high above Lake Travis (about 1/2 mile from The Oasis):

^ I can not express how handy that will be in modeling buildings in downtown. Especially their bases. Oh man. Also a good tool for scouting out good places to take pictures from.

This is freaky... Apparently the day they did the street view where my mom works, she wasn't there because her car isn't in her parking spot.

This is awesome though, they were really detailed and almost did our house in Round Rock (the two closest major streets they did, but they didn't go in the neighborhood).
