Hey All,

So I hadn't seen a seperate thread for this development. I know it's been a LONG time since it began. Many issues, people bought in (such as myself), people opted out (again, such as myself). However, I'm still interested in this project and hope that it all works out well.

Anyways, I ran into Marvin Caplan a few weekends ago while he was doing an open house for a unit in the Pigott building and inquired as to the status. Work had just resumed after re-working financing deals, re-hiring contractors to do the work, etc. I went for a little walk to Pan De Sole (misspelt, I know) and took a stroll past Trinity. I was shocked/amazed/excited to see at least from John St, the building was looking water tight. Roof is on at least the fourth floor and I'm 'hoping' that work will pick up and continue throughout the winter, with people moving in real soon!

It's now 25 months since I orginially purchased a unit, so development is long overdue. But still, more successful downtown projects and people in the core still gets me excited!

Can someone provide a little more background on the Trinity Landing project?

I've been looking for a new condo with a patio downtown Hamilton and stumbled upon the Trinity Landing site (they are building 2 level units on the roof). The scheduled open house (I believe for the non-roof units) was canceled mere days before the scheduled date and when I contacted the real estate agent they indicated that the project was on hold. Recently construction has restarted and my requests to the agent for an update have gone unanswered.

I can give you more info...is there anything specific you're looking for.
I had bought into this project over two years ago now and found out after my purchase a friend had looked into buying a unit there at least a year before I did. Basically, the project is one that is moving at a crawl with numerous setbacks which have occurred. I've only had positive conversations and encounters with those involved in the project, but must admit that I'm skeptical as to when/if the project will be finished and ready for residents.

Oh wow... there's more to it than there was 2 weeks ago last time I was down there. Good stuff... let's hope they can actually sell the units w/ all this controversey!

Looking at the floorplans, they seem interesting (very lofty)!

hopefully they completely redo that brutal exterior. it was a fabulous brick warehouse before they butchered it.
the top floors are looking cool. probably some sweet units with nice patios up there.

I like the transformation happening here. It's got angels and not so boxy. They'll probably add stain glass windows.

Ya, I don't get it!? They sand-blasted off all the ugly blue paint from the bldg to expose the brick, then cover it in stucco!?!

The angled parts on the roof are supposidly going to be glass (can't tell, it's covered in snow) to open up into a cpl of the units!

I hope this project gets done sooner then later so that thre cannot be anymore setbacks. I think that this project will hopefully spark a renewal on king william. Hopefully they can get rid of all those parking lots and the blank brick walls from the buildings on king

Is there any news on whether any of the units are back on sale and is the owner of the project same as the previous one - I believe his name is Harry. I was in the market to buy a unit there when everything seemed so peachy and then I had no choice but to back out of it.

coming along, but geez, why such tiny windows?? they take a great old warehouse with huge windows and start putting in these little things...weird.

i mentioned this a while back but i took a tour of a few of their units when i was pounding the pavement for houses. they were bizarre - such strange and inconvenient layouts. i'll be thrilled if they manage to sell out.

I don't think it looks all that bad. They did a good job with what they had to work with.

Window size is always a issue within the dense parts of the city. The building department will not allow larger windows in buildings that are close together unless automatic Fire Shutters are installed, this came into effect a few years ago. Those are VERY expensive to install and maintain and look like crap. The worry is that the separations are below a minimum safe distance for fire spread and they want more robust fire protection.

I don't think its looks that bad but as mentioned earlier, i hope it gets done asap and sells well. Thats the best thing that can happen here now.
