Great photo thread! But now that we're asking questions about the culture, I have one as well. I was curious if there were any Catholic churches in Dubai considering the large number of western tourists that go there? I know that in the west Catholic churches are as common as McDonald's and I've seen quite a few when I was in Palestine. But I was just curious because what if someone is there for a week or longer, is there a way for them to celebrate mass on Sunday?

Anyway I guess this line of questioning is straying far afield from the purpose of this site - drooling unquestioningly over tall buildings, apparently. Suffice to say that at best Dubai is a playground for rich Muslim men, among other less savory things - something I'll never fully understand or appreciate. But vitually every major city has a sordid past, especially during its rapid growth phase. Hopefully in 20 or 30 years Dubai will come to grips with it and mature into a truly great city.
Dalton you dont care what i have to say or even if i reply to your questions , you have your mind set on certain misconceptions you belive are facts or atleast prefer to belive as facts .... your the kind that blows hot air and opinions all around and will die old not knowing most of whats really going on in the world

travel more if you can afford it THEN make comments based on facts bro

Great images. I really enjoyed the different perspectives. It's amazing how many "looks" there are to the city. It truly is history in the making and will be really interesting to see in 20 years.

Thank you again for the pics and commentary.
