Looking just like the updated rendering's back when Oppenheimer first announced this beaufull all glass apartment building , sad that they reduced it down 2 floors lower but it's ok because it makes a huge improvement on the west side of downtown and spreads it out with density and vibrancy , and with this brings more development , many more surface parking lot's just waiting for another huge hopefully 40 plus story project coming soon , especially with all the High paying job's coming out of Micron , reach higher Boise , love this buiding Thanks Skip Oppenhiemer for all you've done to reshape Downtown Boise , never stop Believing !

Could a new sports stadium or convention center be coming to Boise? Maybe. Here’s why

The district is working with Seattle’s Pine Street Group, a developer that worked on the Seattle Convention Center, to find what that next big thing may be. It could be a new sports arena, an expanded convention center, a large-scale hotel, or something else entirely.

“The attributes of (Boise), the character, the authenticity, the history — it’s unique in the sense that it has an authentic downtown but it also is pedestrian scale and is super walkable,” Rosauer said.

The second level of the Arthur Apartments lights up the parking garage, and emits light to the outside though the fabric. Once all seven levels are finished, and the street lights are put in the area along Idaho Street it will be a blazed with lighting. OxBlue cam.

The Idaho Wheat Commission just received an updated proposal for their new building. I personally think it's a nice building and seems appropriate in terms of its size and architectural style regarding its location downtown. Hope to see it come to fruition.

Here is the original proposal from a few years ago

On a side note, I am enjoying the trend of new construction in Boise taking on more classical notes of architecture. If this overall redesign is built, the Wheat Commission would join Hotel Renegade, Fire Station 5 (still under construction), and the Lively (Near 5th and Bannock), all new buildings built to mimic the looks of older buildings.

It's nothing more than a swirling rumor that's been around for the last year. There's nothing definite, just a bunch of us sitting around hoping.

I like the idea of two 20 floor towers vs one 40 floor tower.

We need an update regarding The Ovation.

The more the merrier, but I'd love something to break up this squatty skyline.

Something in the 400' range would look great. (Potentially 40 stories for housing, maybe 28 or so for office if it's flat-topped)

Anything taller would start risking the OKC effect. Or since I'm an old-timer, the US Bank Building in the 80s effect.

I'd prefer a skinnier tower with an interesting top, not flat. And housing tends to have skinnier floorplates than offices...a massive chunky office wouldn't look great.

I think that a couple of buildings in between 350' and 400' range, plus a 450+ footer would look a lot better; it would help center the skyline and create a modest bridge between our current tallest buildings and the 450+. We also need a project like Ovation to bridge the gap between One Capital and the US Bank.
