They're now pouring the exposed beams between the office and residential sections. The hike and bike trail is detoured until October through one of the new Waller Creek suspension bridges and you can finally get a sense for how awesome this area will be once completed. Other photos include a view of this building peeking out from 2nd & Congress, and some of the nice stone trim on what will be the hotel lobby.

I'm surprised that the Travis doesn't have a website up. Most Apt projects would have one up by now. The nearby 700 River and the Paseo have one for example.

I saw this image of (I think) The Hilton Garden Inn Monterrey Obispado, and it reminded me of this tower. It’s actually two buildings, so not quite as cool as the picture makes it seem, but if it were all one building then it’s what I would want this one to look like.

Maybe because those aren’t as high end so they can get them to market quicker. I know there were some delays on the Travis, maybe that coupled with lower market demand right now they’re not rushing it? Also curious if the developer of 700 river needed those leases secured sooner for financial reasons?

Has anything concrete (pun unintentional) been announced about Phase 2 of the waterline? IIRC, there were obviously the original renderings and marketing material, etc., showing a second shorter building, but I don't think I've seen anything specific about it yet.

Judging by the rate the Waterline is going, it seems like they are truly on track for a Fall 2025 completion; if Phase 2 were going to begin right afterwards, I'd think there'd need to be something filed on it by now. Perhaps with interest rates, etc., they're pausing it for the time being.

Yeah especially if the rail yard around the corner ever started. that would be quite a dominating skyline/backdrop for events on the convention center rooftop (if that ever happens)

Imagine going back to the 2005 Rainey rezoning meetings and showing city council these photos. Could anyone have seen this level of development coming?

I’ve been here 65 years and can hardly believe how amazing the new skyline looks.
I thought the construction of the American Bank tower (later renamed the Chase, and now Procore) 50 years ago was spectacular with its reflective gold tinted glass.

I think there were two renderings. One with a 3 floor amenity level and one 2 floors. I kind of wish it was the 3 floor version.
