missed a spot

Cool, thanks for the updates, gilly. I love murals on those big, blank walls. Looks like they missed a spot:

Altough, I guess it will be covered up soon enough...

I wouldn't have as much of an issue with blank walls if they were covered by murals and we are starting to see a shift with more murals and art walls. I would love for Downtown Austin to be filled with color and art all over so there's always something to look at. I would love for something to pop up on the west face of 6X garage, especially considering it is lit up at night.

I don't really understand why Austin developers are so hesitant to paint concrete. In Latin America that would have at least been like primer white stucco over the wall.

Definitely true, though a bit too often the mural looks a bit like this, where it's done on a portion of a corner, which gives me the feeling of "yeah, we met the requirements" versus wanting to actually showcase the art.

This is a pipe dream, but how much more cost could it have been to: (1) flip the north and south podium walls (having this blank wall facing River St.); and then (2) Hire a mural artist to do the entire wall? Short of hiring someone like Shephard Fairey, I have to imagine it'd be a fairly "small" cost compared to most aspects of the building, but would be much more memorable.
