Of course there is no economic case for such a thing, though I will say it would improve infrastructure resilience, both by providing redundancy to the Confederation bridge and as an alternate land route to Nova Scotia if the Isthmus of Chignecto is ever impassible.

The Northumberland Strait down by the Wood Islands/Caribou ferry crossing is
a lot wider than the Abegweit Channel (where the Confederation Bridge is). I believe it is about 22 miles (nearly 40 km, vs 14 km for the Confederation Bridge). It is also a lot deeper down there. The cost would be prohibitive, even if the engineering was feasible.
If traffic volumes ever justified another crossing, it would make most sense just to twin the Confederation Bridge. Doing this would also simplify bridge maintenance, as if a major refit was necessary, all you would have to do is close down one bridge and divert all traffic to the twin until the job was done.
