I would say does Comcast think that we're dumb but it seems like half of Philly has bought into their shtick so maybe we are dumb

Comcast also states in this article that they will not pay for nor build their life sciences proposal, but they just created it to sell it to a developer? It's ridiculous that the Inquirer or anyone else is even taking this seriously. I wonder how much money Inga Saffron is making from Comcast Spectacor. It's embarrassing that she even considers herself a journalist when she just spews CS's propaganda 24/7.

Camden released a rendering of a stadium over there. Looks cool, but the same thing could be done in the stadium complex. Maybe slightly less interesting since Camden is proposing a waterfront development. Makes me kind of reconsider the proposal the sixers had on the waterfront since durst is just sitting on it. Market East is still the better location due to transit. Decking over 30th street station yards would be nice too.

This is from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. First off, this will never be built so I'll get ahead of that. The 76ers, if they picked Camden, would never pick North Camden. Secondly, putting a state funded arena and highrises basically on top of 2 story rowhomes in one of the poorest neighborhoods in America is especially evil. NJ should be embarrassed for even suggesting this. It's a massive waste of money and insult to the citizens of Camden.

Not that I think this would happen but we should realize that when it comes to development, exceptional stupidity is quite common place.

The worst part of this idea is that the housing and park won't be built. so this stadium will just be hanging out there by itself, surrounded by 18,000 parking spots. It's going to look awful.

If only we had a recent example we could look to with regards to a sports facility in this area...

What I find odd is that the same people crying about "Save Chinatown" and displacement are the ones pushing for this ridiculous proposal in Camden.

Sure, build a monstrosity in the actual middle of a very poor, minority, low-rise neighborhood... Performative activism.
