It doesn't evoke a WOW response but its really memorable. It's one of those buildings that'll make people point and say "that's miami". I think people will get to love it in a few years once it settles in the skyline.

That is one bizarre looking building, but I can see it settling into public consciousness over the years.

After stewing on what this reminds me of I figured it out. Lighthouse. I legitimately wonder if this is what Foster might be going for. The concept definitely fits with the Citadel name.

It's like a Miami version of the John Hancock Center.

I like it!

Will this be built? Crazy to think how different Miami could look in a few years.

It would be cool if Austin could give it some more competition and come up with some taller projects.

Highly likely. It's a pet (vanity) project for Ken Griffin.

The tapered design is what makes it stand out from the others.

Will this be the one of many towers Ken Griffin will build? I hope it's not the last.

He's building two supertalls, one in Miami and one in New York City, plus some supporting buildings in Miami. Not only that, he has also bought the most expensive penthouse to date in Manhattan at 220 Central Park South.

Here’s When Citadel’s Brickell Supertall Tower Is Expected To Begin Construction

An expected construction start date for Citadel’s new supertall headquarters tower has been revealed.

Construction is estimated to begin in the third quarter of 2025, a Citadel spokesperson told The Real Deal.

Miami-Dade records show that the zoning review application was accepted on September 9, after an initial August 26 filing was revised. The development is now being assigned to reviewers.

The tower is planned to rise 1,032 feet above sea level, or 54 stories.

It will include 1,293,373 square feet of office area, 212 hotel rooms, a health spa, fitness club, ballroom, conference and event space, and fine dining restaurant space.

There will also be 50 underground parking spaces.

Citadel Tower Submitted For Site Plan Review At Taller Height
September 24, 2024

Citadel’s new supertall headquarters tower has been submitted for site plan review, at a taller height.

In late August, the plans were submitted to Miami-Dade for zoning review showing a height of 1,032 feet above sea level. Zoning review is currently in process.

With the new site plan filing on September 23, the height has been increased to 1,049 feet above sea level.

The number of floors is now listed at 55, compared to 54 stories in the original filing.

The new site plan filing shows the development is now planned to have:

-approximately 1,293,373 square feet of office

-hotel/accommodation uses consisting of approximately 413,476 square feet containing

-212 hotel rooms and accessory uses, including health spa, fitness club, ballroom, conference and event uses

-restaurant and/or retail uses consisting of approximately 23,590 square feet

-approximately 50 below-grade, on-site, executive parking spaces, with additional parking across the street

Exactly, I think of all the office tower proposals, this one has the best chance of rising.

Exactly, Lord Norman Foster designing two supertall skyscrapers doesn't come cheap for Citadel. I wonder if both this one, and the NYC tower will rise at the same time?

Not only that Ken Griffin purchased one of the most expensive penthouse's in the world at 220 Central Park South, NYC for $238 million.

Ken can also sell a painting or two to finance the tower.

But more importantly - Citadel moved its headquarters to Miami. They're definitely getting a tower.
