Of course WIDE/green pedestrian friendly (why put the green in the middle of cars when it should be by the sidewalk) with protected bike. It will NEVER be a world class street using the same old CAR FIRST and all else designed around that attitude.
Agree on all points.

Hizzoner has announced the remainder of the stations:

Krog, Boone, and Armour Yards are the other 3. Making a direct marta connection possible from each cardinal direction of the Beltline. A tangential benefit is now when the stations are built in these locations that they will now have access to the benefits of FAR bonuses and no parking minimums near the stations.

Good to hear! I wonder if the Boone station will be able to handle full-sized trains? I haven't heard much about the Bankhead platform expansion lately. Those two car trains must be a royal PITA

Planning permit filed for trail (the city of Atlanta side of the Chattahoochee Riverlands, adjacent to the Silver Comet Connector) near the Chattahoochee.
"CONSTRUCTION OF A MULTI-USE HARD SURFACE TRAIL ADJACENT TO PEACHTREE CREEK & INSTALLATION OF A CANOE LAUNCH AND ADJACENT PATHWAYS. THIS INCLUDES GRADING TREE REMOVAL"

Would connect to the northernmost stretch of the red line in this graphic:

10th Street Bridge project starting soon

Contracting company F.S. Scarbrough was awarded a contract in June for the 10th Street Bridge project, a planned Complete Street spanning between Georgia Tech’s eastern campus and the heart of Midtown.
Atlanta Department of Transportation officials say the bridge conversion will create a “safe, beautiful, multimodal gateway” into Midtown, with bicycle lane connections, landscaping, lighting, decorative fencing, and safer intersection treatments, among other changes.

The cycle track will connect into a new cycle track on Williams Street, and a new shared multi-use path on Techwood.

The latest graphic of Monroe/Virginia shows the slip lane behind Woody's removed, and lot of pedestrian improvements on Virginia.

Good. The slip lane is stupid.

It’s really annoying there are no bike lanes on Monroe north of here. The route is used by bikers a lot, often on the sidewalk. But it’s much more direct to take Monroe than the Beltline to get to the western side of Virginia Highland.

I will always say that not aligning Virginia and 10th is such a missed opportunity. Would greatly ease traffic flow, make this entire stretch of Monroe safer and would even have allowed for better Beltline crossing options.

PATH August 2024 newsletter

Page 4-5 has some dates for project starts and finishes. Lots going on with Path400, Beltline segments and spurs, and the Silver Comet Connector.

Agree, the Philly place will not give in though.

I'm not sure how that would work. Currently the Beltline only has to cross one road, Monroe, since Virginia crosses over on a bridge. If 10th was aligned to Virginia, wouldn't the Beltline then need to cross both streets? Also, it's really easy to go east/west here on foot or bike, I think aligning 10th and Virginia would only encourage car traffic here which is counterproductive.

Amen, the disjointed intersection actually forces cars to slow down as they have to make multiple turns rather than just flying straight through.
