Not sure is this was mentioned, but the cement plant on la brea had a demo permit on the fence. Seems like they're on track to start building in 2025.

Medical office building a block from the future Wilshire / La Brea Purple Line station to break ground later this year. A nice surprise that they refined the design as well.

Obviously we will see if this actually happens. This is one of four high rises proposed for the area. We could get a nice cluster over here if they all go through.

This building is proposed a block north:

This is planned a block immediately east:

This is planned a few blocks north:

https://la.urbanize.city/post/beverl...-lebanon-tower

And lastly we have the long proposed Caruso development:

Ive heard the Caruso tower is probably not going to happen. Could be wrong, could be false info, just something I've heard.

Someone please buy Beverly Center, demolish it, and put 1000 units of housing there.

That would be interesting if true as this project is still listed on their site as active. Sure interest rates and construction costs are high right now, but they have owned that piece of property since the 90's and this was Caruso's first development. It's probably fully paid for and they can afford to sit on it until the costs to build lower. The apartment building they built across the street supposedly has a waitlist because of such high demand for the Caruso product. But also, something that has changed since is that Mr. Caruso has stepped down from running day to day operations of the company and is semi retired from it while pursuing other endeavors. I personally would love to see this one rise.

The Beverly Center has been stepping up its ground floor activation game though with new entrants like the soon to open Gold's Gym and the 2nd outpost of "For the Win" which will be sure to draw crowds. Gold's is a draw in and of itself and should help to activate more of the foot traffic around Beverly and La Cienega.

Yea, it could stil be on. Could be the person's guess/ thoughts, but they do know people in real estate and I guess his departure is coming soon. Politics? Who knows.

Shopping over an active oil well is one thing, but I think California and LA will step in to block any housing Contruction over one ha-ha.

Is there really an active oil well under Beverly Center?

Not sure how often it pumps, but all the infrastructure is still there.

It's true[! At least as of 2018, the 54 wells at the San Vicente drill site behind Beverly Center produced tens of thousands of barrels of oil a year.

From reddit today-

Heard an interesting tidbit that the old Security Trust and Savings building on Hollywood Boulevard (currently undergoing ground floor renovations) will be the newest location for an Apple store

That would be GREAT news. Somebody needs to buy the Pacific Theater and do something with it. The current owner's statement "its not worth the investment to bring it up to code". Well Cosm just opened by Sofi, I feel a similar experience along Hollywood blvd would be fitting. Buildings between Las Palmas and Vine need some different stores and TLC.

That strip is full of Smoke shops, Souvenir Traps and vacant store fronts. A strip as globally renowned as Hollywood Blvd. Deserves property owners that actually give a da**, or at least sell to the highest bidder.

My great dream is to renovate the Pacific Theater and bring it back to its former glory, removing the triplexing and turning it into the massive single screen theater it once was. If anyone has a couple hundred million dollars lying around, just let me know.
