I underestimated the sheer scale of this thing after looking at the rendering a second time, it looks about as wide (maybe more from one angle) than it is tall.

How far from downtown is this complex? Any recent pics of this one? Much appreciated.

The TMC is about four miles from downtown.

From the southern end of what is traditionally referred to as downtown (the CB) to the northern end of the Texas Medical Center is a straight shot of 2.75 miles. To this particular construction site form the southern end of the CBD is 3 miles. A lot of people refer to the whole area as "Downtown".

The hospital skyscraper really is something else! The hospital reminds me of a downtown skyscraper.
