Gordie Howe Bridge update.

Construction on the Gordie Howe International Bridge started in 2018 and is on track to be complete by the fall of 2025. This infrastructure should have a significant impact on the movement of goods between the two countries, improve trade and strengthen the economy on both sides of the border.

In the world of looking waaaaay to far in advance... on my ride home from work on Wednesday, I noticed what looked to be soil testing of some sort at the old Grace Hospital site. Can the city move forward at all with that property while there is an ongoing legal issue with the previous developer?

I saw that too! I imagine that they could do some testing and what not at least. I wonder if they have other parties interested in that property already?

At this rate we'll surpass 500k pretty soon. Curious how much things will ramp up as mega projects finish or kick off.

Talk about the Tecumseh Hamlet was actually mentioned today on CBCs website that the town is bringing it to the public for consultation now. Sounds like its progressing well.

We will be at 500K by next year for sure. Crazy to think that we will be at half a million that soon, considering the slow growth we had become accustomed to over the years.

I hope this is true, Windsor could absolutely use a second one. Every time I had gone to the Windsor Costco when I lived in the city it was an absolute madhouse. They’ve been on a big expansion kick in Canada so it wouldn’t surprise me to see a handful more pop up in SW Ontario along with the new Brantford location. I’m holding out hope for a third one here in London since both of ours are packed.

Windsor is primed for some serious growth, especially with the investments in new electrical capacity and all of the major new road projects. I think a lot of the pumping station, water treatment capacity, and sewer/servicing upgrades will be some of the most impactful, though, since they’ve been a long time coming.

Mini boom? Local housing starts well ahead of last years pace.

Nice to see construction starting on so many new homes, especially multi unit condo and rentals. We will need even more as our population boom is likely to accelerate over the coming years.

Let's hope it continues to ramp up. Need more density in the core and west Windsor.

Agreed. The city could really benefit from densifying the downtown. More efforts need to be made to make the downtown livable and make it more appealing to the coming generation.

Is the 3rd shift back yet? If not, this guarantees its return.
