Nope, turns out you can be white but without all the fragility and victim mentality. Ex - pretending "wypipo" is an offensive slur lmao. Desperate need to be a victim.

It's really unfortunate that we can't discuss the legacy of colonialism without some (mostly older) white folks getting angry, feeling attacked, and making absurd statements about hating whites or being "racist" to white people. The fragility is real. If you think it's about making white folks feel guilty or whatever you're really missing the point.

I don't know why but older folks struggle with this on a personal level too. Can't acknowledge wrongdoings or recognize someone else's struggle without getting all blustery and making it about them somehow. Same behaviour but extrapolated to social issues.

I'm so old I don't even know what "wypipo" means. I may have been missing out on practicing some self-righteous indignation.

Just kidding. As far as I know I've never been referred to by that term; and if I have it didn't register. Sometimes being a clueless old guy has it's advantages.

363 Wardlaw Ave (burnt house next to the old E-Mart Groceries) is now up for sale for the land value only. As far as I can tell, the old E-Mart building sold a few weeks ago (the listing is no longer active). I wonder if the two lots might be combined into one. Not sure why they weren't put up for sale at the same time.

I noticed in the paper it said SK8 is negotiating with the Forks to stay through the winter. That would be disappointing.

160 Osborne St: The building is occupied! I saw occupants going in and out of the building plus there are belongings on the balconies. There is still work going on for the ground floor commercial units and landscaping around the building.

Thanks for the photo updates! There’s some good density getting built east of Osborne. Hope it continues.

TBH that location makes a lot of sense, especially given the proximity to the skate park. Osborne does need retailers, but a retailer that doesn't get the kind of traffic it needs is no good for anyone.

I agree, but SK8 is a destination retailer.....it would draw wherever it is....The Forks is just choochkie retail....it should be somewhere cooler than that.

The burnt-out building at the corner of Mayfair and Harkness (former Regina House) has finally been demolished. That burnt-out building had been sitting there at least a year.

I think it burned in early 2022, so over two years... But I am very glad it's gone. Any idea if something might ever happen with that whole lot there?
