^ That parkade end of the building looks kinda gross, so hopefully it gets dressed up a bit in the end.

Looks like an airport hotel...minus the airport.

Ah well...adds to the city's housing supply and offers a modest visual upgrade over the Pemby's vendor and motel.

Looks fairly different than what was approved. One less floor, no balconies, no front bump out with the green roof patio, etc.

Are there cities that are actually serious about requiring adherence to the specified design and materials?

The only example that comes to mind here was when that Sherbrooke developed subbed wood-pattern metal cladding for the specified wood and was forced by the city to replace it. I can think of a dozen examples where the final construction deviated in a number of ways from the approved version. It feels like we fall for the developer bait and switch constantly here.
