Group Moves to Ban “NIMBYism” From Regina City Council Meetings
NOT IN MY BACKYARD” – a cry often heard from community members opposed to new projects taking place within close proximity to their homes or businesses – often due to unfounded concerns for safety and well being if controversial projects move forward. Those controversial projects are often tied to our communities most vulnerable people.

Candidate hopeful Brandon Abtosway joins race for Regina's mayor
The 27-year-old plans to battle Sandra Masters for the mayor's seat at Regina City Hall this fall on a platform of getting "back to the basics" with city responsibilities.

Abtosway says his approach will be to “get back to the basics” with city spending. This means prioritizing roads and sidewalks, balancing police budgets with social services, “cutting unnecessary spending” like trips out of province and ending “vanity projects” like a new events arena and relocating the train tracks on Ring Road.

Having this guy as mayor Will, put the city back 100 years
I say no for him

This person also belongs to the Advance Regina group, which appears to be a backdoor way of getting provincial corporate/Sask Party-affiliated people on city councils in Regina and Saskatoon to blunt any community-focused/progressive candidates. For that reason alone they are a bad actor. There will be a number of them this year.

Recent poll puts NDP narrowly in front of Sask. Party ahead of election
"I would have expected the Sask. Party to still be on top in terms of the overall percentages. I think they're likely well behind in the two major cities."

Who would’ve thought all good things must come to an end. I wonder what the sask Parties pronouns will be when they lose

First Nation's proposal for the Yards 'not at all sidelined,' says Mayor Sandra Masters
Regina's mayor also said she feels "it makes sense" to put a new baseball stadium at Taylor Field, rather than at the Yards.
What does that even mean sidelined?

Muscowpetung submitted a development proposal in 2022 to use three acres of the downtown property for an Indigenous business incubator.
They submitted a proposal years ago and we’re only hearing about this now. The city Council is so messed up. It’s not even funny and they try to sugarcoat it. Oh Dewney Avenue is our first priority, but that doesn’t really make any sense, Someone comes in with a proposal after many years And you ignore it stupid can you be like just get out of the City Hall?

Interesting to know airport bus usage is tripled (300 to 900/month). Wonder how much of that are staff vs passengers? Also good news about increasing service frequency on Sundays from hourly to every 30 min on some routes, with more increases to follow. Great news all around!

Regina home buyers frustrated with lack of inventory: Real estate agent

Patrick said semi-detached and single-family homes are the most popular right now, and despite the generally low inventory there are still some lots on the market in the northeast part of Regina.

“There are a number of lots left. They are going to keep going east and north,” she said.

“We’re pushing towards Costco there. That whole area out there is going to be residential. It’s going to be filled up.”
