A developer will also have to deal with the rock, for what it's worth. It could add value as extra park space for a future connector cap. Idk. It just seems a shame to wreck up the little patches of nature we have left.

Is that what you call nature?

(rocks that were exposed by excavation when Williams street was built, and a dirt parking lot)

Looks more like BIG patches of Moonscape to me. Also the Cap is totally DOA and NOT happening. Maybe a new proposal in 25 years or so but...........

It's gneiss, it's a metamorphic rock that's millions of years old and I don't think has been blasted before. I think it's worth cleaning up and saving as a feature, honestly.

That’s definitely a roadcut… it was not naturally a perfect north/south wall, and I don’t think it’s all that gniess looking

Wow - that is really going up quickly! I wasn't sure they'd be finished for the World Cup.

I hope they don't flatten that granite outcrop, it's actually a cool look.

They’re building a road here. Even if they left it, it would be under asphalt. But they’re almost certainly not going to leave it.

I like it too but no one else seems to care.

imo the bigger loss is the opportunity to build an HOV interchange with 75/85 by adding a new 15th street bridge across only the northbound lanes of the connector (not crossing over to Home Park). This would have provided immaculate bus access from Arts Center Station to the connector and increased the total capacity of the midtown interchanges, which are really congested at present.

But, that’s not the sort of thing GDOT is focused on. Endless toll lane viaducts through the swing-voting North Fulton districts win the day.

I’m pretty sure the 15th street bridge will be built eventually, just like home park will be bulldozed for high rise construction eventually. Hopefully by that time, there will be discussion about extending the connector cap up to 17th street bridge.

Most office projects have been cancelled, or essentially cancelled because they can't find a tenant. I wouldn't expect any of the office projects to be built.
