It'll be interesting to see what he does. X has a different sort of vibe, doesn't necessarily scream exurban manufacturing campus to me . . . though Elon does like the freedom to build what he wants, which is absolutely what he gets on the 130 corridor.
He might find some sort of justice in taking some of the old Meta space in 6G, now that I think about it . . .
FWIW, I do think the Elon exodus is a bat signal for other tech CEOs in his orbit. He's always been pretty loud about quitting California, but it's been different than the other relocation announcements. His other relocations have mostly been about regulatory environment and taxes, but the X announcement was pure culture war stuff, based on a CA ordinance that protected transgender kids. He explicitly said that, with this ordinance and others, CA isn't supporting families, and isn't a desirable place to attract workers. To me that's an important shift, and indicates there might be a techie Great Sort going on.
