I'm typing this as it's raining buckets outside. We're expecting something like 20-40 mm of rain per hour.
Yep. Last year was also very smoky and it felt like every nice day in June and July was also super hazy and gross out. And if it wasn't smoky, it was raining.

September was gorgeous though. Warm and sunny almost the entire month.

This summer has been great – aside from a day of intense rain from the remnants of Beryl, it has only rained a little bit here and there, and usually overnight. Everything is green and lush but it has also been hot and sunny most days.

Back into the heat warnings his week. A bit of a reprieve on the weekend, down to 26. Currently 24 and overcast with some showers but up to 32 today and possibly up to 37 by the weekend.

Next 2 weeks are supposed to be hot so Edmonton has started their heat protocol.

Evenings are great to sit on the deck because it's still warm but not hot. Also, any time after 7p it's great to get out and do a ride or walk.

Very lush here as well. My gardens are growing great. My grape vines are loaded with fruit, even the one that has not produced the last few years. Grasses in the Provincial Park along the lake are shoulder high.

Its funny. Our forecasted temperatures were already really hot. But now that they've been increased to the 40C level our Heat Warning actually got removed lol.

Holy rain Toronto.

The DVP has reverted back to a full on river.

Daughter’s soccer game at 6 has been postponed due to I assume water logged pitches. Storm water entered the below ground parking garage at my work on level 4. They emailed all tenants asking whoever was parked there to move. There was one straggler and they sent an email again asking for that car to be moved. I guess they are pumping out the accumulated water.

Just saw aerial video of the DVP in Toronto looking like a river in flood.

Our hottest July 16 since 1892.

EDIT: One nice thing about VOCM (which has minimal journalistic standards) is that they will full on publish 80% of a news release, or an email, etc. There are dozens of things every week you'd never hear tell of otherwise, but because of VOCM, whole province knows This is a perfect example.

Glen Abbey used to be there. Now it’s gone for the moment. Imagine if this happened during the Canadian Open.

That is one hell of a water hazard.

That's funny about Glen Abbey. I think it's built on a flood plain so not too surprising. Actually a lot of places that flood around here are just working as designed, they're supposed to flood with heavy rain events.

Apparently we had some rare positive lightning early this morning. I slept through it but it woke up my wife and she said it was quite a light show with extremely loud thunder claps

Cleared up and was super muggy again. Temps have been decent at my house, 28-29 the past five days, with humidex values of 37-38 and lows 20-22. Things don't don't vary too much here in mid summer

Those Toronto pics remind me of classic localized flooding seen here in Japan often during the summer.

Looks like Lytton hit 40 again today.

28C with a humidex of 37 and mainly sunny. Some cloud cover later in the afternoon and some rain this evening.

Low of 21C (humidex of 29) this morning. It is the 4th consecutive tropical night. With a dewpoint over 20C it doesn't cool even if you get rain. More impressively, this was our 14th consecutive low above 18C. Without a heat wave this month, the Interior will be warmer this month but Montreal will most likely be the warmest place outside the Interior. Downtown MTL (avg July temp: 23.8C) running about a degree warmer than Windsor and Toronto (avg 22.8C)

The warmspot was Lytton, BC at 40.9C.

Warmest low was Port Colborne, ON at 21.9C.

If the heat wave holds for about two more weeks, there is a chance some Interior station records the warmest month in Canadian history. I think the mark is 26.9C... I had a post about it a couple of years back. Need to find it, I had made the research.
Metro will know better but seeing Ashcroft with a monthly avg of 26.8C.

I was planning on launching my rig here at the mouth of the river on Friday but me thinks that won’t be an option now.

Sunny, very warm and very dry.

Tuesday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 27 C (30 C w/Humidex), the low was 16 C.
