I agree. Most of the heritage value on the north side of King has been gone for many years. The Woolworth's building that was at the top, the former Canada Permanent office building at the corner of Germain, Brunswick Square and finally Brunswick House at the foot of the street......all 1950's-1970's and none of them are/were exactly architectural gems.

They started removing the old foundation (Wednesday). Jackhammers/heavy equipment.

I wonder if depth of hole is enough for foundation, or of they need to excavate some more.

I love the concept that Percy’s hole could end up even deeper and still doesn’t have a building

I read something about 3 levels of parking now instead of 2. Even if one is street level (in place of the grocery store) I'm not sure the hole is deep enough for two levels of underground parking.

Street sign = 99 King is a heritage property meaning no faux brick allowed

Yes upon close inspection it does seem to miss the north side of that block

Work continues on the site today, there is jackhammering going on “in the pit” to clear out more of the old foundation.

A Committee Of The Whole item at tonight's council meeting regarding "construction license agreement for 99 King Street". “The city enter into a license agreement with WL Holdings Inc. over a portion of PID 39420, known as South-Market Street, to permit the construction of a new building located at 99 King Street”.

Sounds like they will be using South Market for staging materials, deliveries etc etc
