That's true but at the end of the day, Canada based teams are 0-3 in Stanley cup finals against teams from Florida. Those non-hovkey towns still get the cups.
As a Flames fan I was happy to see the Oilers lose, but if there is a chance of Canadian team winning a cup it's probably the Oilers. They'll most likely win it next year, and if not, the year after that, it's just a matter of time. After that, it'll probably be another 20 or years before the next Canadian team wins one.
