According to new signage on site this will be called Admiral's Corner Apartments. Personally I would of leaned heavily into the "unique" clock design with an horrible pun ... Military Time Place ... The Watchtower ... Northern Clock ... Clockwork North ... and so on ...

A tower crane base is on site now. I think the original construction management plan said this would be done without a crane. The boom will have to be coordinated with neighbouring cranes. A luffing jib crane would work well here.

Have they considered the risk of icicles forming and falling from the hanging clock and striking someone dead in the street? Also, since it points north, will it act as a sundial and will someone make markings across the street for it, lol?

I sat on the Design Advisory Committee for this meeting and yes, falling ice was a big topic that night. What they continually said was that the clock was just a placeholder for some sort of piece of art there. And that it might not necessarily look like that in the end.

Walked by this the other day, seems like the design has changed from original renderings (no more hanging clock, but still seems to have a clock incorporated in the design.)
