The Presby Tower crane (red) as seen from the Southside Slopes. The blue crane is for the Walnut Capital Innovation Tower.

[IMG]http://Pittsburgh Construction Update by William Pipkins, on Flickr[/IMG]This shows three active construction sites in one capture.

The new UPMC Presbyterian Hospital

The University of Pittsburgh Athletics Center

The University of Pittsburgh Victory Center and Arena

The Athletics Center and the Victory Center/ Arena is built into the hillside and will provide access points along the way. All three building will be interconnected with green roofs with natural and urban landscaped walkways. The slope is intense and the walk is rough. This will improve connectivity between the lower and upper campus.

This new tower is starting to rise. This tower will have a tremendous impact on the Oakland neighborhood skyline

I can't access CTBUH's full list of Pittsburgh buildings. At 288 ft, will it make the city's top 40?

^ According to the June 21 article:

The stoppage to work, Montaño said, is “limited in nature”...The project did have the proper building permits, she said, so that portion of the work is moving ahead uninterrupted.

Agreed. I was awed by its sheer size.
