Just watched it takeoff. Heading to CMN - Casablanca

Yes, they are usually military charters. It was at CRC for it's time on the ground.

Watching a loaded A343 take off in these conditions would be a spectacle.

Currently waiting to board the first ever Wednesday AF327 if I’m not mistaken. Gate area at 15 is absolutely rammed, and only a handful of open seats when I checked in yesterday.

The schedule change is finally loaded, looks to be most of the winter. In fact, the second flight is scheduled to begin after Labour Day, so it will be 13x weekly from Labour Day until the end of October when the change to the winter schedule happens. Eastbound flight is a redeye.

Around early March it drops to ~7x weekly, but schedule may not be finalized yet as it's pretty inconsistent after that.

WS319 YOW 0630-0900 YEG x7 eff 03SEP24

The original 5x weekly loaded into the schedule remains, until March 6 when it seems to switch to only operate on Tuesday plus the occasional random weekday.

WS225 YOW 2020-2321 YEG x67

That's a lot of seats for YEG especially if Porter keeps 2x through the winter.
It is a good use of a plane on the redeye and morning turn to YEG.

I know WS offers some connections via YEG, but I wonder what the YYC schedule looks like through the winter. I should check this out.

Looking at the week of 09DEC24, YOW-YYC is 2x daily. That'd be an increase in frequency of 1x weekly vs last winter I believe when the 2nd YYC on Saturdays didn't operate. Don't think it's a capacity increase though as this winter is showing exclusively 73Gs on the route at this point whereas last winter, I'm pretty sure there were some 738s/7M8s.

The morning YOW-YEG is 738s/7M8s.

WS are going to need to add something else to the YOW winter schedule as the 2 weekly RSW flights don't connect/rotate with anything since the elimination of MCO, CUN & MBJ.

Most WS bookings look to be funky from March onwards (too far in advance?), I'm 99% sure it's 11x weekly for the entire winter.

I also think YYC will be upped this winter eventually (whenever the schedule is finalised)

Perhaps an extra 2x weekly on YYC-YOW as a redeye on days 37 and returns days 14? They need something to be able to operate YOW-RSW as right now nothing rotates with it.

This would be logical. They could also add another flight 5x weekly, that is days x37 on YOW-YYC and days x14 on YYC-YOW, with the frame RON on Sunday/Wednesday night. But given the PD increase over last winter and AC returning to the route on a daily 7M8, not sure WS will have the demand to increase capacity by 5x weekly flights.

That said, if/when PD announces RSW this winter I could see WS cutting RSW as well. I wonder if they only kept RSW since it's the one sun route they had a monopoly on.

Looks like PD is about to announce a significant Florida expansion. I haven't checked the schedules in depth though (just to see if the YOW routes are daily or less).

YOW gets RSW and TPA - Looks less than daily. MCO and FLL go double daily.
YUL gets RSW and FLL
YHZ gets TPA and MCO - first "longer haul" routes from YHZ
YYZ gets PBI

https://www.flyporter.com/en-ca/abou...er-and-embraer

YYZ to PBI is the later launch on Dec 12 so maybe YOW-LAS will follow after that hopefully. Also, I believe this is the first time PD would announce new anything on a Wednesday if I'm not mistaken.
