Landmark District has an announcement June 17. Major new tenant is my likely guess, wishfully hoping for Landmark 8.

Would be great but I wouldn’t hold my breath, LM7 has like 7 tenants between 5 occupied floors so I doubt LM8 is in the works. Hopefully some of the retail space is being filled!

I really wish the Landmark Buildings were downtown instead of where they are now

I'm of two thoughts here, downtown would be great and it would have really solidified the core skyline with some decent office towers, but part of me also likes the separate node it creates.

In a way Kelowna is developing 2 almost 3 skylines which I agree is pretty neat.

I should be in Kelowna for most of the month of July so I'll try and post pictures on here.

Yeah, Pandosy is becoming a decent little cluster as well.

Awesome, and I'm jealous. looks like work schedule and finances have nixed my trip back to Canada this summer.

Looking forward to those pics!

I'm a big fan of the multiple skylines. If that Burtch and Hwy 97 development actually makes it past the concept phase, the Landmark skyline will triple in size, with most concepts having two or three 30+ story towers. Something to look forward to in the next decade for sure.

There is a large new community coming to Penticton called Innovation District. 1500+ homes with retail space, and an office tower, all directly across from the hospital. Sales are starting for phase 1 in the upcoming weeks.

Landmark looks great on the skyline, but at street level it has major suburban office park vibes. If it can develop into a more urban type area it could be the start of a midtown in Kelowna!

Agreed. Modern North American planners just don't know how to create nice city core neighbourhoods. Across this country, the nicest parts of the major settlements were all carved out from the 1600 to the 1800s.

Once the Sutherland realignment happens there will probably be more interest from developers other than Stober Group in that area. The lot at the corner of Dolphin and Kirschner(opposite LM1) is for sale and IRCC has zoning that allows residential.

So neither. They've rebranded.

It is essentially a sububan office park. Some of those vibes may be shed as they build more office towers that are closer to the street and have more street activation, and more residential, but it will be decades in the making. Unfortunately they are missing at least one multifamily building that should've started construction 5 years ago, and several more by now. The convenant that allowed Stober to build all of what they built no longer exists so they may be holding on to their cards.

Reminds me of a coastal design. Kelowna can pull it off though.
