First historic pour, now historic financing.

Quote:
The Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Residences, a nearly 100-story luxury tower set to rise at 300 Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami, has secured a historic $668 million construction loan, the largest ever for a residential condominium development in Florida.

July 12, 2024 - Friday 6 pm

Not much to see as they are not yet above grade.

But the site was very busy late on a Friday.

Feels like this thing is finally full throttle now.

The quicker, the better is all I can say. I'd love for this baby to rise by 2026. If we have to wait until 2028, OK, but 2026 would be a marvel!

Interesting that you should mention that, cities like Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok have been using darker tinted glass on their skyscrapers. And some of Miami's recent highrises also have a bit of a darker tint to them. So this one may follow suit. It's not a blackish tint, it's a deeper blue. Like car window tint, I think it's meant to help reduce the effect of the harsher sunlight nearer to the tropics.

Wow, moving much quicker than I expected, especially for such complex formwork. Not your standard rinse and repeat floorplates and columns.
