Wonder how much the developer talks to the city. Compatibility is going to be reduced this year after briefly "going back into place." Unless they need to get this project started before that happens, which is understandable.

Today's ETOD passage should actually cover this project and put VMU2 back into place, since it's within a half mile of transit.

Excited for this one to start.

Block 16 & 18

Two finalists for Block 16 & Block 18 are receiving community feedback. Both presentations include renderings.

Of the two I definitely prefer ARA's pitch but both would be a nice fit for the land.

This is from late November but it provides a nice update on the Boardwalk at Springdale Green.

^^The “social hammocks” look pretty neat, but what is this urban creek that may or may not exist?

It's a shame that park is private. But at least it doesn't seem to be completely closed off from the public.

This is a small project, but some much needed permanent and transitional supportive housing. At five stories it will stand out from the surrounding neighborhood. Located on Grove Blvd across from ACC Riverside campus and golf course.

Render of the redevelopment plan for AISD's Anita Ferrales Coy Facility (former home of Allan Elementary School). Plans call for 519 rental units, at least half of which will be income-restricted with priority given to AISD staff. The white building in front will be a new Alternative Learning Center presumably designed by AISD.

I think this might have only been first reading, but it is a positive step forward. Along with the other project at 183 and Airport, it will completely transform this stretch of the Colorado River. I have never seen renderings of any kind for either project.

From ConnectCRE: "Kairoi Residential can move forward on its wide-ranging mixed-use development along the Colorado River in East Austin. Austin City Council approved a request to rezone the land from limited industrial use to a designated planned development.

Kairoi Residential’s plans to develop what it’s calling the Bolm East and Bolm West tracts, located between U.S. 183 and the northern bank of the Colorado River, include 2,200 multifamily units, a 385-room hotel, 1.5 million square feet of office space, 20,000 square feet of retail, a 127,000-square feet-shopping plaza, 134,000 square feet of restaurant space, a 27,000-square-foot arts theater, an 8,500-square-foot music venue, and a 37,000-square-foot civic center. The land is currently occupied by an asphalt facility and outdoor storage."
