This is good. More of this is needed. 3,233 units is bonkers!

If Live Local can aid to spur more of this across the state, good times ahead. Maybe not for traffic but for units, yes!

I am curious though about local opposition to this, if there is a risk of it but hopefully it won't lead to larger issues in the soft-cost stage.

Regarding the local opposition, this is located in an "unfavorable" area of Miami and the site is currently occupied by "project" style housing. I'm thinking because of this, there would be less opposition, with the exception of the current tenants.

This project will make a lot more sense once the North Extension of Metrorail to Hard Rock Stadium and County Line gets completed. MDC needs to make the North Extension a major priority and forget about the Metromover extension to Miami Beach, since the Metromover is a low capacity mass transit system and Metrorail is high capacity mass transit system.

If anything, extend the Metromover to the Civic Center as a loop around Jackson Memorial Hospital, and once MDC finishes the North extension, it should also work on extending the Metrorail system to Aventura, Doral, University Park, Zoo Miami, Southland Mall, Key Biscayne, and Bal Harbour via Miami Beach. Think of how many TODs similar to this can be built within Miami-Dade County!
