Yes, that's part of the art walk. There will be installations like that along the length of it.

These special crosswalks are all well and good and i know its part of the Art Walk, which probably has different funding sources, but i really wish Atlanta could get all of its cross walks and street lines painted.

Thanks for the pics though, Julien. I'll need to walk this path one day.

The new crosswalks looks very good but like someone else said could be high maintenance.

Concerning but the Rainbows on 10th & Piedmont hold up to MUCH heaver traffic. Although the Ped Xrossing on 10th & MARTA Midtown will see heavy traffic. Only time will tell.

Very glad to see this! I recently walked through COP with an out-of-town guest and the condition of the fountain was ridiculous.

Why they can't just do a fast build like they did with spring street and reduce the size of the giant lanes each way and add bike lanes on this road and on Peachtree place. It seems like such a low hanging and fast build to do, with both having enormous widths for each lane. And there are very few east/west bike lane routes shrug:

Lol. Yeah, streets and sidewalks always get torn up and paint marked by construction/city maintenance people. Can't have it looking pretty and perfect for too long!

Since this damage was done by the water main break, Midtown Alliance has said they're going to file an insurance claim to get the painted crosswalks reinstalled.

Planning permit filed for a Vietnam Memorial in Piedmont Park

"This project consists of the development and implementation of a new Vietnam War Memorial Plaza to be located at Piedmont Park. The plaza will be a 5 point pentagram with central statue and series of lecterns providing the history of the Vietnam War as it related to the inhabitants of Atlanta. The plaza measures approximately 2200 sqft. made up of concrete, brick, and stone pavers as well as an additional 950 sqft. brick pathway. Names of Atlanta soldiers and the cities they came from will be presented on bronze plaques over granite lecturns. The plaza will be accessed by a new brick pathway off of the existing adjacent pathway. The plaza is just south of the pedestrian entry at 14th street just north of the Noguchi Playscape. Integrated lighting at the base of the statue will operate alongside the existing park lighting. Placement and layout have been optimized to have the least amount of impact on all trees."
