I'm wondering, what does it mean to be honest to you, then?

Do you know what would happen to you if you took pictures of dilapidated / ghetto-ish areas where I live?
You may get beaten up or stabbed to death by gangsters in charge drug dealing, cause they don't want you to disturb them.
They'd leave you dead on a sidewalk.

That's why I wouldn't go too far into honesty.
I would like to, huh, but I have to stay alive.

It means they showed the everyday life of Jackson in photography instead of a curated tour. I admire that.

Very cool. I expected to see some beautiful residential neighborhoods, downtown & some surprises. I wasn’t disappointed as a matter of fact I’m pleasantly surprised having the opportunity to see much more. City with Soul indeed. I’ve been keeping my eye on Jackson in the city compilations thread the incredible culture seems to have been at the heart of getting through the tough times.

You went above and beyond my expectations like I said I’ve been interested in Jackson it’s been in the news a fair amount lately but before that it was a city I wants to know more about. It’s an old established southern city with a ton of history that hasn’t been completely destroyed for urban renewal. I haven’t really had a great mental picture of the city writ large a solid downtown around the state capitol sure & some classic grand southern neighborhoods along with some tough areas and some avarage ones.

Thanks again for putting in all the time and effort to share the full spectrum of Jackson helping me build a mental picture. I dig it, a lot of potential Jackson being such an old city I expected to see potential & from the city compilation folks out there putting the effort.

As ColDayMan it’s honest set not just showing that there’s vacant blighted areas but also more average and mundane areas as well as the beautiful, interesting & changing spaces. I wanted to get to know Jackson a bit more and I didn’t come off disappointed.

Yes and I had a great time. Went to a Jackson State game and had a blast. You should be proud of such a soulful city.
