Stopped at the grocery again this morning. 20 minutes early for my bus at my stop. So I walked to see how many I could hit before the bus caught up to me Only five.

0C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 8 AM, going up to +5C this afternoon with occasional rain/snow showers.

The highs in the forecast period range from +1 to +5. The average high for the date is +7C. It's as if somebody up there turned off the heat about November 1st. October was delightful. November has been a pain in the butt..........

Whatever happened to El Nino???

With snow squalls blowing across the basin and very low single digit temps yesterday afternoon could have easily been a day in January. Thankfully there was zero accumulation. Temps started to recover at 2 am and at 10 am we're sitting at 4.2 under a bright but mostly overcast sky. High is forecast to be 7 today with the possibility of ice pellets overnight.

A pic from yesterday morning. This ship was leaving as I was brewing morning coffee this morning. Approx. 24 hours to load up gypsum and be on its way.

Pics from this morning... the crane/barge at the marina has been installing posts presumably to better hold the slips in place. A climate change initiative? Speculation on my part.

Morning traffic coming down magazine hill. I wish the blue sky had stuck around for the day.

Thunderstorms last night. Around the time of the storm it was 12 degrees here and only 2 degrees in London, just one hour away.

Warm air coming for Southern ON middle and late next week. Highs of 15-16C can't be ruled out.

A very cold wind blowing through Stratford tonight. Brrr. Otherwise, partly cloudy but I enjoyed seeing the stars and all the crocheted poppies on William Hutt Bridge - his tombstone in Avondale Cemetery is tacky.

+1C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 8 AM, going up to +5C this afternoon with scattered showers and flurries.

Cold but mostly clear for the next week. Hints of a warm-up by next Friday.

It has been a pretty typical November here, Highs have been around 7c with over nights around 1c.

Forecasted to 8c and a mix of sun and cloud. Looks like it will stay this way until mid next week as we dip down to highs just above freezing.

Had to get the snow brush out of storage yesterday, but most of the snow that fell is gone now.

Of course everyone is now ringing up their garage to get their snow tires on here. I got mine on just before Halloween. I don't get why people wait.

It’s been a terrible late October and early November so far. Literally feels like December. It’s milder today and next week however

I’m swapping my tires at the end of the month, but my “summer” tires are actually all-seasons so I can wait until the rush is over.

Still pretty nice here, so far November avg high is 12 , average low is 3.2 and the mean is 7.6. Similar weather is on tap for the next couple weeks. We lost a lot of plants on Halloween but the mums are still looking good and trees are right on schedule. The Siberian elm on the left can stay green for a long time while the maples have now lost about half their leaves. The cottonwoods out back have been bare for a couple weeks.

Most trees have lost their foliage, except for a few more resilient species. My neighbour happens to have a large silver maple that drops its leaves late. I usually wait until the end of November to clean the gutters and rake the leaves in my backyard because of this, while most of my neighbours are already done.

From a couple of weeks ago.

I found this moon to be very interesting while driving on the QEW.

And I don't know if this is a wasp or hornet or whatever. But I do know it was on steroids. Whatever species it is, it's at least double the size of a regular bee/hornet/wasp. It was the second time this year I had one (possibly the same one) in my shed. I shooed it away to fly outside. Then when I was done in the shed, I closed the door, walked into my house and heard a buzzzzz next to my ear and the f'ing thing started flying around in my kitchen. It was probably resting on my shoulder. Was pretty easy to whack it out of the air with a swatter given its size. I should have used a bottle cap or something for reference.

That's pretty big, maybe it's a European hornet. There's one bigger type you might see in southern Ontario, the cicada killer, which can be two inches or longer

There are also a bunch of things that look like bees, hornets or wasps but are actually flies. I only see these late in the year. These were a bunch of drone flies and hover flies out this morning.

Beautiful sunny day. These are from McLaughlin Bay in Oshawa.

Never seen so many swans converge in one area. Usually only see 2-4. Had to be 50+ in the bay

Not sure if there was just really good visibility today but you could see the Toronto skyline from as far away as the 401 in Bowmanville, and I've never noticed that before. This shot is from Oshawa. For anyone wondering, Oshawa and Toronto are both on the north shore of Lake Ontario, Toronto being more southerly, so this view is on an angle, not across the lake.
