What Is The Weather Today II (No Mercury Jockeying)

Yesterday, I explored Sweaburg (had always wondered what it was like: nice residential-only village for management at Toyota Woodstock?) and Ingersoll - very hilly, depressing main street but still relatively affordable. Interesting narrow residential streets and I love the postwar strawberry homes off King Solomon St in the NE corner. It kind of reminded me of Timmins.

Anyway, muddy sideroads around Cassel on the way back to KW. Leaves almost gone. Earlier yesterday, got my winter tires on: $45 @ CT.

Not a lot of heat in SW Ontario this summer, but my station still managed 148 days over 20 and 85 days over 25. We had only 6 days over 30 but there were 24 days of 29 or above..

It didn't feel like that hot of a summer in the interior. We didn't hit above 40 that many times, but the 30 plus days were plentiful. Seemed like a pretty typical summer.

I think this is more to do with just how hot the last few summers have been.

20 years ago, this summer would have been very noteworthy.

The heat dome a couple years back has also really altered people’s perception of “heat.”

I remember a similar thing happened after the East had the amazing March heatwave, and then there were a few forum members who expected the same to happen every following few Marches.

If I may be an SSP-style booster, this chart confirms that Ottawa(-Gatineau) has the best summers in the "Corridor"!

Oh yeah, going through the data it looked like a nice consistent summer. Interesting part was the two largest heat events were at the very start and the very end of the summer season.

Whenever you have time, if you could do the same with the number of 25+, 20+ days as well, it will be interesting.

And with lows of 15C+ if that is not too much to ask.

Like flar said, the summer lacked heat in Southern ON,QC. Definately, the worst in many years.

We dropped to .7 on the basin this morning. At 9 am we're sitting at 4.1 and heading for a forecast high of 7 under sunny skies. ... on the cool side of normal.

One year ago today we were on the beach enjoying a 20 plus degree day and wading in the ocean...

Still cold but a lovely, sunny day. I had to get off the bus early to go to the post office and walked the last 20 minutes home.

It was sunny with grey skies as I walked the Mill Race Trail around noontime today. Then as I came out of Food Basics, a massive rain/thunderstorm hit. Still raining, very dark and depressing.

It's been not bad here after that bit of snow the week before Halloween—it didn't stick around long and has been mostly sunny since.

I think it got up to 12 yesterday and I was able to get out and get some much-delayed fall yard work done.

Literally freezing. It was -0.5 at my place this morning. Out of coffee for the office so had to walk to Sobeys. Left at 7:20. Still at my bus stop 15 minutes before it arrives at 7:51. I suck at timing stuff.

A rather bleak week in the offing. This is a rude awakening given that October was generally delightful.
