And in the beginning there was.............Chicago!!!!!!

This is what started it all for me. This trip to Chicago was the catalyst for all of my photographic endevors. I instantly feel in love with the city. Also this was in the day prior to my DSLR so all pictures at taken with my 6 mp Canon Elph point and click. So all you peeps out there still using a point and click need to recognize and step up your game because you are not reaching your cameras full potential.

ENJOY!!!!!

The first stop was in Waukegan to visit my brother Michael. He lived about 2 blocks away from the docks and took us for a visit.

Sadly the dockside brats was closed

I really liked that tall building there.

From where im standing here you could see a hint of the Chicago skyline. It was truly amazing.

On the train here. One of the many suburbs along the way to Chicago.

This was one of the first things I saw when we starting rounding into town. Breath taking to say the least.

One more shot of Willis just for good measure

One more from the rail

And what kind of tourist would I be without a shot from the rail station

Finally making it to the streets. We just kinda wandered for a while checking stuff out.

In the cab cruising to navy pier. It was my brothers idea not mine.

The EL!

At the time aqua and trump were still being built

While navy pier did offer some great views the whole complex was way to commercial and touristy for me.

Indiana, ewww

Cell phone pano

This was the only reason I wanted to go to navy pier. I wanted to go to the actually billygoat but its all good. Burger was still greasy and delicious as it looks here.

Remember to never mess with a guy with a pet goat

This guy rocked. The lady behind us ordered a tuna sandwich and he still called out Double CheeseBurger! And they served her a double cheese burger.

Like I said, gorgeous views

Me and bob having some conversation, lol

The wife

We saw lots of crains on the trip

Along the river

Zoom

A stray from the pier that got out of place

Going to millennium park

A double caught in the act

More trains. I wanted to take a cruise on the EL but my sister in law thought it was to dangerous. I think I should have reminded her I was from Houston.

Some of the framing could have been better but this trip was definitely a learning experience in photography.

This was outside of giordanos.

And yes, we did get some pizza. Everytime I look at this picture I can still taste the amzing sauce they used. You can have one overnighted to you for the small sum of $75. I have actually contemplated spending the money.

Heading out to catch the train. I really did not want to leave.

Some other random shots that got out of order

Urban moose

Da bean

Me and the brother

This is the last shot I got in the city. My camera battery died after this one. I love this shot. Its what really made me want to be a photographer.

Stay tuned for my next Houston thread coming soon.

Nice photos.
Next time do not listen to suburbanites Re: the L, or the city in general for that matter; you would've been fine; 600-700K people ride the thing on a daily basis.

yeah, i really liked how the buildings layered here. Thats one of the reasons i left this one in color. in the bw version everything kinda muddled together and it lost a lot of the depth.

Some wonderful things can come out of a little camera like that. Sweet.

Great tones with the b/w too.

Wisconsin is dangerous; them and all their farms, rolling hills and outdoor recreation. Not to mention the packers and the Fonze, both of which can give you std's. Mr. C is cool in my book though, eeehhhh.
