I am comepletely for it, under its current design, with designated roadway all the way down to the UofM.. and with perminant stations, which can easily be converted for LRT use.

This is a red letter event for Winnipeg.

Build it in a way that the corridor can be upgraded to LRT in the future, I guess.

They should make the dedecated brt way streetcars ala Portland with ROW that can be shared with buses and the turned to exclusive LRT ROW when needed in however many years.
Removing the service for the conversion time in the future is going to be very hard.

It's a dedicated route, there are future plans for LRT, and there is even talk of sprinkling it with high-rise residential to compliment a tax base that would be used to pay for the construction. Excellent, and lets go.

It's too bad we lack self-confidence as a city.

We've been waiting for this announcement for at least 40 years and then we get a half-assed watered down version of it.

Yes, its ok. It's better than nothing.

I'm just tired for settling for second best all the time, whether it was an arena that was built too small for an NHL team, a totally butchered Chief Peguis Trail Extension, the fiasco that became 100 Main or this.

Sam came through. I didn't expect this under his administration. Of course LRT would be better, but the will amongst politicians or the desire among the wider populace isn't there yet.

This is a great step in the right direction.

Definitely better than no rapid transit. It should have been LRT to save the long term costs but that doesn't matter anymore.

Let's build it!!

It will pass a vote at city hall. Anything Sam and Genny have ever agreed on has passed nearly unanimously.

I'd be aghast beyond any measure if it didn't.
