Last weekend the lighting was different colors and patterned. I'm sure they'll have plenty of different lighting schemes.

So far it's only been that white spot light and the red airplane light.

I'm hoping that isn't the final lighting for the spire.

Here's a few shots from tonight. It appears that the spire only has spotlights on it. More shots are here:https://imgur.com/a/3Kjdm

From the little I saw inside the rooms, they look a little bare. I wonder if they are fully furnished yet.

That looks pretty sweet. I'm glad this one has a spire. This building is really wide and it sort of needed something up there to distract from that a bit. I think it would have been considerably less interesting without the spire, especially at night, even with that screen lighting.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to add colored LEDs for the spire. Certainly, it's unlikely that they could have any that were actually attached the spire itself since there aren't a whole lot of places they could attach them. And even to have more colored LEDs shining onto the spire they would likely need separate fixtures of them surrounding the base of the spire along with those white ones. That would make it even less likely to have them on the spire itself since they would need separate fixtures for each color. I do think it would look cool to have the option to have colored lights shining on the spire, but really, I'm ok with the white. I think it's probably more visible with that color. Some color on holidays or special occasions would be nice, though. The smokestacks at Seaholm, for example, look great with their blue lights.

Colored LEDs can produce an almost unlimited range of colors from a single fixture. They just vary the output of each of the RBG diodes.

Yeah, but the ones they have for the spire now are only white. They would either have to replace that fixture or add more of them.

Even if they weren't the color changing LED types, I think they could use gels on special occasions to change the color of the spire. Those lights look fairly easy to access.

That's a play on my going to the jw while it was under construction. Look back a few years to see.

It would be cool to see the inside of the fairmont when it was under construction. I was using my eagle eyes to look into the rooms from the drone shots. I wish they would post a room tour with the view like the JW did.

It was still one of the coolest things I've done. I remember being scared shitless on the cantilever.

I remember now, forgot that was you. Stirred up a bit of controversy on the forum but those were some pretty cool pics nonetheless.
