I've been a skeptic about this building. I tend to be against big fat buildings that take up a whole city block. I think that sets a bad precedent and results in a sterile downtown. However...
I must admit that this is a signature tower for a new, mature Austin.
It feels weird to be here to witness a time when the towers that Austin will be known for are coming into being.
I can't help but reflect back on the Green Water Treatment Plant and
how we all imagined it would end up looking. It turned out far better than we ever imagined.
Soon, we won't be able to imagine an Austin without this building.
I just really hope they don't slap a tacky Google logo on the side and ruin the clean look.
