Still installing the steel rebar for foundation slab. Getting closer to the big pour.

CTV had a news story tonight about the foundation pour that happened today. 125 cement trucks started around 530 this morning. Was pretty busy around there when I drove by at 730 on the way to work.

I am surprised a building this far away from completion is called an 'essential' service.

The supply operators are enjoying the empty roads like truckers.

I'm sure they'll miss getting some nice chow for lunch at the market, however. That's closed down.

I think it's basically up to each business to determine for themselves where they fit in that extensive provincial list. From my view at work, many of my customers are putting business over employee health by saying they are essential even though their claim to one of those categories is extremely tenuous at best. I doubt there is any enforcement going to happen.

I'm lost on this building.

People keep saying that it fills a parking lot but as far as I can remember, there never was a parking lot on that block of King. I know there is the gaping hole between Richmond and Citi-Plaza but not here. What am I missing?

If you use Google Earth (the download, not the website) that has the clock that you can look back in time with, that was a parking lot as far back as 2003, which is as far back as it goes. I don't specifically remember what had been there or when it was demolished to make way for the parking lot.

I guess I was wrong then.

I know that there is a parking lot behind this site that backs onto York Street. Will the development fill up both lots?

This property has a laneway off York, the parking lot adjacent to the west is separate.

The plot includes a small portion that extends to York Street, and there will be an entrance for resident parking there if I recall correctly.
There is another parking lot to the west along York which is not part of this development. Check out the old details here you can see the plot lines better http://www.london.ca/business/Planni...2-ElevDwgs.pdf

L3 level walls and posts forming continues. Likely starting to form the L2 floor slab within a few weeks. I would expect 4-6 weeks per underground level meaning the ground floor slab should be poured by end of Aug.

Forming L2 level floor on north side of pit. Imagine the remainder of L2 level and ramp will happen this week with steel rebar installation. Should be pouring L2 floor slab concrete the following week.

Alot of progress on the L2 level steel rebar installation. Should be able to see major concrete pour by end of this week.
