I think Rico's comment was referring to the farmland in the foreground of that
Montreal in 2045 picture... but yeah, there's no culture anyways over here...

No thanks, I had enough of Malekisms here on SSP to last a lifetime. After all, he was the one that tactfully reminded me that I live in some shithole in Ontario. As a born and bred Quebecker, I was so fed up of his characterization of Montreal Anglos as whiners. I have never ceased to defend Quebec against misperceptions, here and elsewhere. Oh, and was he banned?

Keeping Maldive's thread going...

Here are some updated renders for Calgary I've done. The curvy, waivy blue building is based on the descriptions we've heard in the Calgary forum for a new project in Eau Claire.
The pedestrian bridge is a stand in, and for continuity's sake, I've used the same design for both renders.

These have been double checked by Boris2k7 for general accuracy.

I think thats the proposal for Herald Square, we've only really seen the podium but we do have some idea of the height they want. It's on the block west of Petro Canada, and a block south. I may be off though, since it looks to be a block too far west in first image

You're both right, the zoom distorts the kms of housing, but...
Montreal does have farmland ~ 10 minutes from downtown (no traffic). Like all our suburbs, the south shore has retained many rural parts, but there it looks weird because it's geographically very close to downtown...

The Eau Claire tower would be better described as two towers joined at the top with a feature similar to the top of the Bishopsgate tower in London. Other than that, looks great CAD.

Nice work CtrlAltDel. This is a skyline with "girth". The curvy building reminds me of the creature proposed for Paris... though much more attractive in your render.

I shelved my big project, but since you chipped in "to keep hope alive", I'll get back to work on my "ultimate" future render while the projects are still going forward (just in case any of these hundreds of annoying rumours start to become fact).

Thanks guys!

Maldive your correct with the Paris creature. Good eye! Whatever the actual building turns out like, I will fix it up.

I anxiously await the ultimate Toronto render!

I wish I could post a render, but I am sworn to secrecy.
