The first dusk one taken from what looks like Whitby Estates and the one of the Lions Gate Bridge are SO FUCKING COOL.

i cannot wait to see what the Shangri-La looks like when it opens, and people start moving in to their new homes. it'd be like a bright crystal at night!

Fucking incredible. Where is an international "my city is better than yours" photo contest when you need one?

Again, i am absolutely amazed at how much the Shangri-La, and even the new Fairmont has added to the skyline from this angle. Just think what the Georgia and Ritz will further add...

are they going to build around the east area (near the DTES)? Looks pretty empty around there.

Well, the only empty area I can think of is sitting across from the Olympic Village. I believe that will be half towers, half park.

Love that pic by a.Vision.

There are a few 30 storey or so towers planned/proposed for the DTES but nothing substantial, it will remain a primarily 5-6 storey street wall neighbourhood... which would be a refreshing change if you ask me.

Wouldn't that be more like crazy photoshop than crazy zoom. Don't think you could bring Baker in so close without bringing the city in so close that you only had one small sliver of the Wall Centre or something left in the pic.

If the photographer were far enough from the city that type of photo is entirely possible. Perhaps the photographer was on a ferry over to Nanaimo and used a telephoto lense.
