Correct. That said, Selig has plans for the sites directly south of 1105 WP AND east of 1105 WP. So Google won’t have forever views for long.

NEW APPLICATION:

Rockefeller Group - 1072 West Peachtree St.

Design: Brock Hudgins Architects

Project Type:New 61-story mixed-use tower with 350 residential units above ~212,200 SF of office and ~10,000 SF of street-level retail. The site is at the southwest corner of West Peachtree St. and 12th St. An 8-story fully screened podium deck with 850 parking spaces is accessible from both West Peachtree St. and 12th St. Three (3) loading spaces are accessed by a shared driveway along 12th St. The residential lobby and leasing office face12th St. while the office lobby and retail spaces are both accessible from West Peachtree St.

NEW APPLICATION: Trammell Crow - 80 Peachtree Pl. (Stratus Midtown)

Design: Duda Paine Architects

Project Type:New 30-story office tower with ~465,000 SF of office and ~8,900 SF of retail. The site fronts three streets: 10th St., Crescent Ave., and Peachtree Pl. As part of the project, Crescent Ave. would be modified into a pedestrian friendly shared street in coordination with the Atlanta History Center. The development includes a 13-story, fully enclosed podium deck with 828 parking spaces accessible from both 10th St. and Peachtree Pl. Two (2) loading spaces are accessible from a combined driveway along Peachtree Pl. Retail space is provided along 10th St. A ~2,200 SF multi-purpose space is proposed on Crescent Ave. The office lobby is located at the SE corner of the building with a small café space facing Peachtree Pl.

Wow! Finally something tall!

Since its apartments, 1072 West Peachtree seems like an extremely doable project for Midtown. I'm also interested in the Duda Paine-designed tower. This could be two really nice projects for Midtown.

I think we are the only one major city left without anything taller then 500-600 feet being build in last 10 years so its about time to finally join the club.

We got a head start having more 700+ footers than any city other than NYC and Chicago since the 90s though.

I believe the focus on infill rather than height was a good choice.

Not now though. Just did a quick check of Miami, Houston and Phily and all have more 700' than us. We are tied with Dallas (also tied in skyscrapers). That is the only 4 I checked.

Also we only have 18 skyscrapers while Miami has 62 and Houston 38. Sure will be nice to see this move to at least 19.

Also here is pic of the building under construction from this morning.

Are there any renders yet?

That one was only announced in December. I wouldn't give up hope quite yet unless you've heard that it's been definitively canceled.

I must say, it's nice to see a building with decent height proposed.

Hope it doesn't get a reduction in height before it gets off the ground smh.

This is well done at the street level and the deck is properly screened, at least on the West Peachtree side.

So about 40 levels of residential. This is what 350 apartments looks like with a more traditional floor plate.

Wow, that's a bit of a mess.

"Which 2010s design trend should we use?" ... "Yes."

Fingers Crossed on the 1072 61 story.
A subtle crown at the top would be a nice touch, as long as it was in keeping with the overall design scheme.

I really like the other 30 story tower...which should be showing up soon on this forum. It's more architecturally distinctive.
