anyone what what the hell happened with this venue? seems like it is DOA ...... no pun on the local band
I walked past about a week ago on the way to a Work event in Gastown.
Just an empty space with the same old wraps with the 2023 date.

The City doesn't own the building. The club is/was a Westbank project; (it's owned by a numbered company where Sean Gillespie is Principal Director). They've had a few other things to deal with recently, as you may have noticed in other threads. Opening a club probably isn't a high priority. The 2023 license report said Live Nation and Siegel Entertainment would share operations management.

Plaza of Nations club venue changes yet again…

New 1,000-Capacity Concert Venue The Key Vancouver Opens with French Montana and Dr. Fresch This April

This April, The Key Vancouver officially opens at Plaza of Nations with a launch run headlined by French Montana and Dr. Fresch. The new 1,000-capacity venue sits at 750 Pacific Blvd, steps from BC Place and Rogers Arena, and aims to redefine what mid-size shows feel like in this city.

From hip hop and EDM to rock, comedy, and country, The Key plans to program across genres. However, its core promise stays the same: artist-first production in an immersive environment…
