I have asked that same question in this thread before, either broken panels or arrived faulty.

Additionally, they are now installing bare window frames (without glass) on the south sheer wall. Anybody know why?

I believe that's called "stick built" where they glaze the system while installing. Just a guess but maybe there are multiple types of systems on this project.

Each panel has multiple panes of glass. Often it's only the outside pane that has any color. When the outside pane of glass breaks they still install the panel. That's why you see several panels with the wrong color. They will be replaced later. It seems to happen on most projects with a glass facade.

The random appearance of where they were hanging glass at the start makes sense now. They only had that color panel in and were jumping up the pattern. This is going to be fun to watch!!

How do they let hotels build parking or ballrooms facing the street like that? And why wouldn’t a ballroom have big windows that can simply be sealed off when darkness is required? Have to make sure whatever event is taking place feels like a Las Vegas trade show, I guess...

If you are referring to the Sheraton, keep in mind what south Streeterville was like when it was first built. Empty lots and closed warehouses, with the surrounding streets essentially being high speed auto sewers. Not a lot of pedestrian street presence. Not excusing the developers or architects (they still should have planned it to be more street level friendly and urban considering its still in the core), but I do understand how they came up with their (flawed) reasoning at the time.

Love seeing the crew out on a Saturday installing some massive glass panels for the eighth floor

Now they are really starting to roll on the glass. Looking at it, I think I'll end up liking the sort of jagged cuts in and out all the way up, but it would have been much smoother if they had gone with the curtain wall design-wise I'd have to imagine.

The window wall definitely has more character without the Anti-aliasing!

I luv it.
