Yeah, True North Square will fill that void quite nicely. I'm not overly optimistic on Sky City's chances of being built, but it would also do wonders for the density when viewed from this angle.

For those unfamiliar, it could be quite easy to confuse some photos of Saskatoon with Winnipeg. Both very nice photos.

Higher-res images are available at the link provided (and many more aerial images), but here are a couple rarely seen angles of the Saskatoon cityscape:

From the air, Saskatoon reminds me of a smaller version of Edmonton.

They have a lot in common on the ground too. They used to resemble each other more closely before Edmonton's downtown building boom started a little over a decade ago.

Meanwhile, Saskatoon's skyline has mysteriously remained more or less unchanged since the 80s despite the impressive growth they have enjoyed in recent years.

Great pics, Echoes.

The stagnation of Saskatoon's skyline is curious and highly disappointing, but really great things have happened on the ground downtown over the past decade.

Site prep is underway right now for a new hotel/condo, and an office tower on the same site is to start later this summer, so that should add a fresh face to downtown along with the *spectacular* new art gallery.

I kinda think (or hope?) that we're in a similar situation to Edmonton or even Winnipeg just a few years ago, where not a lot is going on and then the bubble of pent-up demand finally bursts. Hopefully we can add some muscle to our skyline in the next decade.
