I'm guessing they need to finish the sidewalk/public areas as one of the conditions.
Thanks for sharing. Is that timeline basically confirmed by sources from Onni? Any chance of another delay you see?

Gilmore Place - Retail Space

Besides T&T Supermarket, other retailers include Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, Trees Cheescake & Organic Coffee, La Ruota Pizzeria, and Kinton Ramen

From the couple of renderings in the article.

Looks like it will be in CRU #110 as shown in yvr1886's link.

What's not shown in the renderings is it's positioned at the edge of a 10 story cliff at the moment, and will be for the coming next few years.

Chipotle, Nescafe, JJ Bean, Sport Chek, Simons, Gymboree, CEFA, Oomomo, Kin's Farm, Breka / Saint Germain Bakery would be ideal to take up spaces here

I hadn't realized that the level 1 retail corridor doesn't follow the guideway (and will presumably exit at the office tower plaza).
So there's a massive SkyTrain column piercing the T&T space.

I wonder who has leased Unit #100?

Ah, I think people that are buying in the Brentwood area would obviously expect increased traffic and in this scenario I think T and T increases ppsf for the whole area. Now if a busy grocer opened in a less walkable/central area that would be a deterring factor, but obviously in this area with buyer expectations this is a positive factor.

I think that run-of-the-mill grocery stores and drug stores generate more retail shopper traffic than high end prestigious retailers would.

More than just Asians appreciate ethnic-serving foodstores and grocery places like T & T.

So its appeal will likely extend to more than just them.

But even beyond the fact that its a T & T, just the fact that it's a foodstore,..period,.... at their doorstep is a plus for any prospective residents.

Less need for a trip to Save-On foods or Whole Foods down the road for those quick dinner recipes.

I used to wonder how in the world Gilmore would be able
to absorb so much new retail space especially with Brentwood Mall, Madison Centre and Solo District next door. With the addition of TnT now I can easily picture it thriving.

Btw Kinton Ramen just opened up at Marine Gateway also. I have yet to try it but the menu looks good.

Brentwood is going to be about 70-90k people once built out, that's about the size of New West or CoNV. It needs a lot of retail.

What Brentwood really lacks is small retail units, which are better for smaller businesses, bars, cafes, places that make neighbourhoods interesting, rather than another Starbucks, RBC branch, or McDonalds. There seems to be some planning to do this on Dawson, but not much. Hopefully things are less sterile as the neighbourhood matures.

I think T&T got both units 100 and 110
