I missed the disconnect between your two posts in scrolling and thought... WTF is Darkoshvilli posting pictures of Calgary?

Great pics, both!

Shameless plug for my new Calgary photo compilation thread (a selection of my own photos for the last four years).

http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=212109

Suggestion... start up the music, give it a few seconds for the intro, and then begin to scroll... slowly.

Thanks guys. I love taking pics, I do it pretty much every day. Unfortunately, while I was in Vancouver a couple months ago, I dropped it in the sand in English Bay. Ever since, the shutter doesn't collect light like it should, so I have to edit them extensively.

At a glance, it looks like Georgia Street Vancouver, you can hardly tell the difference.

The fireworks were fairly decent. That's the first time I remember them being that close to the bridge; they're usually on a barge or something near the Dartmouth shore around the coast Guard base. It was cool that one of the ferries were right practically below where they were going off. If I had known I would have tried to get on the ferry.

Here are a couple more Halifax photos (most are in the photothread: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=212049)

Prince Street below Hollis, all pre-war buildings.

Spring Garden and South Park Street, looking southeast, has a more eclectic mix.

I wish I'd gotten this one when the light was a little better. I like the mix of old houses in the foreground combined with the construction site and newer buildings in behind.

Up-close view of some facades on Granville Street

North Street, coming up from the bridge

Here are a couple of photos taken from Province House. I didn't include these ones in the thread because they were taken with my phone.

Some of these buildings are tough to photograph because they're much taller than the street is wide:

So strange how there are practically zero highrises mixed into the urban fabric outside of the small strip of downtown near the harbour. That would be so hard to get used to.

Oh not just practically, literally. There's the Confederation Building, and one random taller (5-7 floors, not sure which) on Elizabeth. But that's it.

Tiffany Towers will break it up once they're built, but we're still a little block of highrises.

It'll stay that way too. Heritage/height restrictions will keep them out of everywhere else.

Excluding Tiffany, every single one of our highrise proposals would be visible in this shot if approved/built:
