The design architect KPF now features this on their website.

Not sure if I'm using the correct technical term, but it looks like they've started boring a hole.

The FAA may have a height limit in downtown Houston due to proximity to Houston Hobby. At least they did when the state's current tallest was built in the early 80's:

The JP Morgan Chase Tower may have been closer to 1,100' if the FAA didn't get involved.

Wow! One just has to wonder if the FAA still has height restrictions concerning DT Houston since it is directly under the main landing flight path of Houston Hobby. DT Dallas is not directly in the main take-off and landing path of Love Field, however, I now wonder if it too might be under FAA scrutiny concerning building height. If so, what might it be, and will Austin and this tower have lasting staying power for "Tallest in Texas". One has to wonder.

Houston also has Uptown Houston, which already has a 900 footer and Uptown isn't in any flight path. A new tallest in Houston doesn't necessarily have to be in Downtown. Uptown has significant office space as it is, it's the 11th or 12th largest business district in the US by office space.

Oh so true. Houston really could sprout 'The Tallest" anywhere. No real zoning restrictions; could happen anywhere. Good point.

I wish this one would get a dedicated webcam. The camera was focused directly on the site for the longest time, but apparently they now need it pointed at the parking lot to measure traffic patterns or something.

There are restrictions on the east side of DT Dallas. The Love Field flight path is directly over that side. No higher than about 50 stories.
One the west side it opens up and that's why the taller buildings are there.

All of those have been posted in this thread. That's where Curlee gets their content.

No better place than here, besides my wicked drone videos. I need to learn how to edit clips. Those things could be legit.

Those were test panels, with different tints/coatings. So it's likely that the glass will end up being one of those, but I don't think anyone here knows which one specifically.

^^^Yes. And, I believe there is marking on one or more indicating KPF's preference.

I may be the only one that cares about these types of updates, but I like to keep good shots of progress for “historical” records.
