Oh, cool.

RE: here - I don't know. Not that I can think of. I browsed Streetview along Rawlin's Cross and Duckworth Street, which seemed most likely. The closest thing I could find to a literal sign was "J Korean Restaurant", but that's its actual name.

Edmonton's Valley parks system is multiple different parks, but yeah it's pretty amazing. Something like 50x the size of Central Park in NYC.

Definitions are the key. The Ottawa Greenbelt would be way at the top of the Canada list if counted (three times larger than the N Saskatchewan parks)--in fact it would be #2 in the world, but it would be a huge stretch to call all of it a 'park' although most of it is publically accessible.

Ours is like that as well. It begins at Memorial University, and includes some heavily developed areas - Admiral's Green Golf Course, the Fluvarium, Botanical Garden, lots of trails, Pippy Park Campground, a few swimming areas, etc. But a lot of the park, and the areas beyond its western border, are wilderness until you get to Portugal Cove-St. Philip's on the other side.

Video Link

Icebergs and bergie bits floating around in St. John's Bay. This is the view from Cape Spear. You can see Cabot Tower on Signal Hill in the distance. Immediately to the left of that tower is the Narrows, the entrance to St. John's Harbour. The entire city is behind the crest of those first hills.

The village of Blackhead is located about halfway between Cape Spear and St. John's. It has one of the oldest one-room schoolhouses in North America. It's also home to this lovely ranch.

Heading down into the city from Cape Spear.

The sun kissing the cliffhanging homes of the Battery goodnight.

And setting behind St. John's. Nicely, the St. John's CMA sees sunrises and sunsets over water. In the east end of the city, where the downtown and St. John's proper is located, the sun rises over the Atlantic. In the west end of the city, from Conception Portugal Cove-St. Philip's to Bauline, the sun sets over Conception Bay.

First some photos from the newly renovated and expanded Kitchener Public Library's Central Branch.

"the $40 million project will see the complete renovation of all three floors of the existing Main Library located at 85 Queen Street North, along with the construction of a new 25,000 square foot addition to the rear of the building. To better accommodate parking needs for the library and our Civic District partners, the project will also include the construction of a 412 space, three-level underground parking garage."

I was just reading a bit in the Record about the new 3-D printer available for use at the Kitchener Central Library. Having just renewed my library card, I am definitely going to have to try it out!

The eastern suite of St. Patrick's Hall is currently for sale. $1.3 million - less than half the price of the costliest suburban McMansions here. I'd kill any of you for this place. O'Donnell Hall, immediately to the right of St. Patrick's (it looks like an addition, but it's a separate building), is even grander inside.

Pictures from REMAX.
